Yukon Power and Sail Squadron is a unit of the Pacific Mainland District

which in turn is a unit of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons.

Membership in YPSS is available to those who have taken Canadian Power and Sail Squadron Courses and thereby demonstrate knowledge of boating and safety.  Benefits such as discount on marine insurance is available to members.

Yukon Power and Sail Squadron

To legally operate a maritime radio,
you need a Restricted Operator Certificate (Marine).

The Maritime Radio course teaches emergency radio procedures, and everyday operating techniques.  

Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS)
